Contemporary art in Venice
- Punta della Dogana: in June 2007, François Pinault (a French businessman, merchant and collector) was selected by the City of Venice to undertake the transformation of Punta della Dogana, once the maritime custom warehouse built in 1667, into a new center for contemporary art to exhibit works from the Pinault Collection. Restored by famous architect Tadao Ando, Punta della Dogana opened in June 2009. The emblematic spaces of the renewed custom house presents temporary exhibitions of works of art from the Pinault collection.
- Palazzo Grassi: this "palazzo" overlooking the Gran Canal was acquired in 2005 by Francois Pinault. Here the Francois Pinault foundation organizes temporary exhibitions of contemporary art, many of them based on Pinault Collection.
