If you are fond of art and architecture you can't miss this Venice art tour!

This walking tour starts in Santa Maria Formosa Campo, where your private tourist guide will show you the ancient San Zaccaria Church.

Besides telling you everything about the Venetian “campi” (squares) and their characteristics, your guide will also explain the development of Venetian art and architecture. Inside the church, you will admire the Gothic and Renaissance architecture and see a masterpiece of the Venetian painting “The Virgin in throne with the Baby and Saints” by Giovanni Bellini. From there, a stroll to Santa Maria Formosa Campo, where you’ll see one of the most interesting examples of XV century Renaissance architecture, the Santa Maria Formosa Church built by architect Mauro Codussi, interesting because of its two facades and typical floor plan. Inside are the beautiful works of art by some of the Venetian masters, among them Bartolomeo Vivarini and Palma il Vecchio. Finally, this city art tour will take you to the gem of the Venetian campos: Santi Giovanni e Paolo (once called “Campo delle Maravege - Campo of the Wonders”) with its beautiful palaces and the church, an impressive example of Venetian Gothic architecture, where the most important Venetian noble families where buried. There it is possible to admire many works of art, among them the Giovanni Bellini “San Giovanni Ferrer” polyptyc.
